The Merope Nebula, NGC 1435, is a faint reflection nebula located in the Pleiades cluster. It was discovered by the German astronomer Wilhelm Tempel on October 19, 1859.

This piece is intended to be a Serenade dedicated to NGC 1435. It was originally conceived to be played in a concert program as an interlude to the piece Pléïades by Iannis Xenakis.
